All about us
James Golding, Manager at the Ship Inn has been in the pub and restaurant trade since he left school so has a wealth of experience under his belt. James started working in the kitchens but soon progressed to a Chef and then to an Assistant Manager position before he was in his 20s. James joined the pub chain JD Wetherspoon as a shift manager, working at the busiest and highest-taking pub in the company – The Windmill at Stanstead Airport. He then became an Area Training Coordinator for shift managers as well as an inductor for all new employees at The Windmill before moving to London Leicester Square with the same role.
James has been with Adnams since 2013 where he was landlord of The Cock Inn at Clare. Since then, he’s managed the Plough at Wangford before moving to The Ship.
You can be sure of a warm welcome – including a rather large and enthusiastic greeting from James’ dog, Homer, who also lives at the pub.
