I loved it it is what a country pub should be, beautiful location right next to the church. The selection of wines was good and not the normal pub chain stock.
Heard that the Ship had been taken over by the same owners as the King's Head at Orford - food and service every bit as good here as it is there.
I was given a warm welcome by the owner after a long and tiring drive. This pub/restaurant had been recommended to me by a friend and I was not disappointed with the dining room or with the excellent dinner menu.
14th Century pub near to the church. This is a lovely nautical pub, Prices are reasonable. The owner was chatting to us keeping us amused with some Olde Gags
The food was delicious and ample portions and the staff were great. We had to wait for a table but my Belly pork was worth the wait The desserts were top class we will both be back
This visit made our holiday…Its my favourite pub in the area. We had good walks in the area and the River Orwell is
Fantastic English pub with Great Food, & friendly staff. Loved the Steak & Chili Shrimp. Will definitely be back !!
First visit very enjoyable great food and excellent value. will be back soon.
The service was good and prompt, asking if everything was ok etc and if we wanted desserts, and of course, we did! I had a chocolate brownie with Ice cream and my friend the Chocolate Pecan Pie - Both very good, with fast delivery time considering.
We then sat and chatted for a good few hours with no pressure to move from our tables or any disturbance at all which is very nice.
Stumbled on this great pub on a trip back to England recently. Food was as good as any gastro pub I've been too, service was friendly and professional, atmosphere is welcoming. Overall I'd say this was more than worth a detour.
