The Team

“We came to Suffolk having gained wide-spread experience of working within and operating successful licensed businesses.

It is now our privilege to take the reins at this charming village pub that already enjoyed a much deserved reputation for its food and hospitality. Our aim here is to maintain that reputation while still introducing a few new and exciting dishes to the menus.

When we first heard that The Ship Inn was on the market, we saw it as the perfect opportunity to realise our dream of running another quintessentially English pub.

Having owned The King’s Head, Orford for a while, we realised it was time to spread our wings a little and what better pub than The Ship Inn to do so.

This historic pub is fondly regarded by the local community and enjoyed by a growing number of those who regularly come here for the food. It’s proximity to Ipswich also make it a perfect venue for a light lunch or, indeed, a business lunch and if you’re in no rush to get back to the office a gentle stroll down Pilots’ Way is ideal for relieving the stresses and strains of modern life. Evenings are a slightly different matter, the menu may be the same but the candles will come out, the pace will be a little gentler and the evening in general a little more relaxing, especially after the port has gone round”.
